Review: Fanimation Centaurus Ceiling Fans
Fanimation’s tagline for its Centaurus line of ceiling fans is “The Center of Attention.” At CeilingFantasia.com we agree that if you purchase a Centaurus, it will likely be the center of attention in whatever room you hang it in. Other than its eggshell lighting kit, the Centaurus’s folding blades are what make this ceiling fan very unique. The folding blades remind me of the folding wings form a World War II Corsair warbird. That was a great plane and would be reason enough for me to buy the ceiling fan, but I digress. Opinions vary widely on this ceiling fan. It’s one of those fans that people tend to love or hate. I personally think it’s uniquely cool and contemporary, but one of our staff said it reminds her of a dead spider. I’m not sure what to make of that comment. Take from it what you will…
Whatever your opinion of this ceiling fan may be, it cannot be missed and it surely pushes the boundaries of ceiling fan creativity, something Fanimation is known for. It’s hard to tell if the two fold blades push more air than a standard fan, like a biplane’s two wings generate more lift. In any case, the Centaurus definitely pushes enough air for a solid airflow rating.
The Fanimation Centaurus is available in a black or satin nickel finish and can adorn maple, mahogany or cherry finish blades. The blade sweep is a whopping 60 inches with a 20 degree blade pitch. You decide if you want the Fanimation Centaurus to be the center of attention in your room or office. There is no doubt that it makes a statement and will generate some conversation.
